Unwind and Uncork: The Friday Cocktail Hour

This cocktail is one of my favorites! I love Mezcal, and in this drink, it takes center stage without being overpowering. Every Mezcal has its own unique flavor profile and level of smokiness, so it’s worth experimenting to find your favorite. For me, Sacrificio Mezcal hits the perfect balance with just the right amount of smoke. If you enjoy Mezcal paired with warm, nutty flavors, this cocktail is sure to be a hit. Best enjoyed fireside.

The Fireside Cocktail
makes 2 cocktails

1 1/2 – 2 oz. Mezcal
3 oz. amaretto
3 oz. coconut tequila
2 shakes of Chocolate bitters

I personally prefer shaking this cocktail, though stirring is the traditional method for an all-spirit cocktail. Shaking gives it an extra-refreshing chill that I love. I always shake for one complete minute.

Once it’s ready, strain it into an old fashioned glass over some fancy ice — a large cube or sphere works best. Trust me, it not only looks impressive but also melts more slowly, keeping your drink perfectly balanced.

Salud!

Welcome to Champagne & Buttercream!

I’m a passionate home cook and baker who finds joy in creating farm-to-table meals, decadent cakes and treats, and savoring a glass of good champagne.

For me, champagne represents celebration and the sparkling moments that make life special, while buttercream reflects my love for crafting sweet, comforting treats. Together, they perfectly capture the heart of this blog – a space where food, creativity, and life’s little luxuries come together.
