What to buy?

“Agriculture is our wisest pursuit, because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.”

~ Thomas Jefferson to George Washington

For the health of your local community and the health of your body keep this in mind when you’re shopping…

Buy fresh produce and grass-fed, pasture raised meat in this order:

  1. Organic local (and if you can’t get organic local, see #2)
  2. Local (and if you can’t get local, see #3)
  3. Organic shipped (and if you can’t get organic shipped, see #4)
  4. Stay away from imported produce and meat.**  It’s loaded with pesticides, antibiotics, soy fed animals, and hormones. Who needs that?** Find out where your meat came from before it hit the grocery store shelf.
  5. Solicit restaurants that buy local produce and meats.  Ask the restaurant manager where your food comes from.

I’m Kimberley

Welcome to Champagne & Buttercream!

I’m a passionate home cook and baker who finds joy in creating farm-to-table meals, decadent cakes and treats, and savoring a glass of good champagne.

For me, champagne represents celebration and the sparkling moments that make life special, while buttercream reflects my love for crafting sweet, comforting treats. Together, they perfectly capture the heart of this blog – a space where food, creativity, and life’s little luxuries come together.
